Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) has set up a central control room to oversee sacrificial animal markets and the removal and management of animal waste. The control room is in the Shitalakshya Hall of Nagar Bhaban.

From Friday, 14 June, the control room began monitoring waste management at 10 temporary animal markets in the DSCC area. From 2pm on Eid day until the day after Eid, it will also coordinate officials and staff in the field during ward-based removal of sacrificial waste, and take information and complaints from residents.

The public has been asked to call the central control room on 01709900888 or 02223386014 if sacrificial animal waste is not removed on time.

An office order has also been issued appointing six of the corporation's regional executive officers as executive magistrates, to maintain law and order at the 10 leased temporary markets and to stop leather traders from setting up temporary sales points anywhere they like.

Under a separate office order, 10 teams have been formed to oversee the animal markets and waste removal on the ground. They will work in the south city's 10 zones.

The office orders were signed by the corporation's secretary, Akramuzzaman.
