The Dinajpur district administration has drawn up a plan to plant eight lakh trees in three hours.

Deputy Commissioner Md Rafiqul Islam gave the details on Tuesday (1 July) at a preparatory meeting for the tree-planting drive and Tree Fair 2025, held in the conference room of the Dinajpur deputy commissioner's office.

The meeting was told that eight lakh trees will be planted across Dinajpur district from 10am to 1pm on 19 July. At 4pm the same day, Deputy Commissioner Md Rafiqul Islam will open a 10-day tree fair at Gor-e-Shahid Maidan.

Others who spoke at the meeting included Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Md Riaz Uddin, Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Md Mosfekur Rahman, and Md Anwar Hossain Sarkar, divisional forest officer of the Social Forestry Division, Dinajpur.
