Milking-equipment maker DeLaval is launching DeLaval Plus in the United States, a secure online platform that turns dairy farm data into insights on herd health, reproduction and milking efficiency for farmers and their DeLaval dealers.

From one portal, producers can monitor their herds, while apps such as DeLaval Alerts notify them when DeLaval equipment needs attention. DeLaval RePro supports breeding decisions, and Disease Risk Predictions uses artificial intelligence to identify early signs of problems such as mastitis or ketosis.

A Health Performance tool, powered by the new DeLaval Milk Cell Analysis device, tracks somatic cell count trends by lactation and follows a cow's recovery from mastitis symptoms. Farms with DeLaval VMS voluntary milking systems can also assess milking efficiency and how fresh cows adapt to voluntary milking.

Dealers get a portal with a combined view of connected herds and equipment and tools for alerts, milking hygiene, vacuum and VMS analysis, with guided troubleshooting. "By putting actionable insights into one secure platform, we're reducing complexity, improving collaboration," said Joaquin Azocar, commercial portfolio manager at DeLaval North America.

The platform runs on DeepBlue, DeLaval's AI engine, and will add applications, predictive insights and round-the-clock troubleshooting; farmers subscribe to the services they need. DeLaval, part of the Tetra Laval Group, has about 4,500 employees in more than 100 markets.
