The first commercial crocodile farm
Bangladesh's first commercial crocodile farming project, in Hatiber village, Bhaluka upazila, has achieved the hoped-for success. The entrepreneurs have exported live crocodiles and skins four times: to Japan in 2014, 2015 and 2016, and to Germany in 2010.
Earnings from exports
Crocodile meat, skins, teeth and bones were exported from Bangladesh for the first time from this farm, earning about 50 million taka. The farm authority says it will be possible to export about 150 million taka worth of skins a year.
