15-Foot Python Rescued on Chittagong University Campus

Members of the Society for Snake and Snakebite Awareness rescued a Burmese python about 15 feet long on the Chittagong University campus and released it into deep forest.

The Society for Snake and Snakebite Awareness (3SA) has rescued a Burmese python about 15 feet long from the University of Chittagong (CU) campus and released it into deep forest.

The snake was rescued around midday on Thursday, 30 July, from a pond near the university's gate 2.

Student Simon Sakib first spotted the snake and informed members of 3SA. Members of the organisation, Mohammad Imran and Mohammad Mobarak Mia, then went to the spot and rescued the python. It is about 15 feet long and weighs an estimated 14 to 15 kg.

3SA member Mohammad Imran said they went to the spot on receiving the news and rescued the python, which was later released safely into the university's deep forest.
