The TV Camera Journalists Association (TCJA) held a colourful fruit festival in Chattogram. The festival was organised on the night of 18 June at a community centre in the city's Love Lane to introduce the new generation to local fruits and to build nutritious eating habits.

The festival was presided over by the association's president, Enamul Haque, and moderated by general secretary Ashraful Alam Mamun. It was inaugurated by Chattogram City Corporation mayor Dr Shahadat Hossain. Abu Sufian, member of parliament for Chattogram-9, attended as chief guest. Special guests were Mohsin Chowdhury, former general secretary of the Chattogram Press Club, and businessmen Amal Kanti Das and Tanmoy Das. Leaders of various media, social and professional organisations also took part.

Speakers highlighted the nutritional value and health benefits of local fruits and the importance of expanding fruit cultivation locally.

They said local fruits are not only tasty but also play an important role in protecting health, so events like this are timely in making the new generation interested in them. The guests later visited an exhibition of different local fruit species and praised the organisers' initiative.

The spontaneous participation of media workers, their families and invited guests created a joyful, festive atmosphere. The organisers said the event was held to raise people's interest in local fruits and build awareness of nutrition.

Present at the event were TCJA vice-president Sanjib Dey Babu, joint secretary Basu Deb, finance secretary Parvez Rahman, organising secretary Saiful Islam, office secretary Saimun Al Murad, publicity and publications secretary Nazim Uddin, and executive members Robiul Hossain Tipu, Zahirul Islam and Nazim Uddin, along with other members of the association.
