2021 is a significant year for Bangladesh. In this time of the country's golden jubilee and the birth centenary of Bangabandhu, we have moved from least developed to developing country status. The year also marks many other occasions, including the centenary of Dhaka University.

For many reasons, including the coronavirus pandemic, the year has been important for people all over the world. We have come through the hard times of the coronavirus. Life has picked up pace again. That is the way of life.

The media carries on. As front-line fighters against the coronavirus, media workers had to rush everywhere. They had to face infection, and many had to embrace death. During the pandemic we lost many of our guardians, loved ones and advisers. Many of the dear people who were always with Channel i as its own strength are no longer here, but their strength remains with us.

It is in the nature of the media that it has to run 24 hours a day. People want to get information by keeping their eyes on the media. They want to hear words of hope. They want to see the world through the window of the media. We have kept to our path steadfastly, with our heritage, culture, our own strength and self-confidence. We have become deeply connected with every element of modern information and communication technology.

On this happy occasion of stepping into our twenty-third year, our heartfelt congratulations and good wishes to all.
