From outside, the large sheds look like a factory, but this is a livestock farm, built like the cattle farms of developed countries. Its owner, Lutfor Rahman Swapan, lived abroad for many years and used that experience to build the farm after returning home.

Swapan got into farming in 2007, starting as a hobby and largely as an experiment. About two years ago he began organising the farm on a fully commercial footing, working out the fine calculations of investment-led agro-industry.

Of 360 local and foreign cattle, 300 are raised here. The eight-bigha integrated farm also keeps dairy cows, buffalo, goats and Garole sheep. The largest unit fattens cattle of many local and foreign breeds, raised in breeds, colours and sizes to suit every kind of buyer.
