Entrepreneurs are turning to rooftops to create calm, peaceful spaces and grow toxin-free fruit and crops. M A Matin of Bashundhara Residential Area in the capital has carefully designed his own home for peace of mind and to meet his family's needs.

To put his love of farming and nature to lasting use, he planned the building so that greenery reaches all eight floors.

The rooftop farm, just 2,200 square feet, is striking. It meets the family's nutritional needs and gives the taste of toxin-free food.

Here, Matin says, the practice is not only of growing crops but also of keeping the next generation healthy. Small initiatives like this can help reduce pollution in the city, and government initiatives need to be made effective.
