The Bangladesh government has sent mangoes to West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari and Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha. The Amrapali and Haribhanga mangoes were sent as a goodwill gift.

On the afternoon of Tuesday 30 June, the mangoes were handed over through the Benapole land port in Jashore and the Akhaura land port in Brahmanbaria to the Bangladesh Deputy High Commission in Kolkata and the Bangladesh Assistant High Commission in Agartala.

The Deputy High Commission in Kolkata received 100 cartons of 5 kg each, a total of 500 kg, and the Assistant High Commission in Agartala received 120 cartons of 5 kg each, a total of 600 kg. In all, 1,100 kg of mangoes were sent for the two states.

Of these, 100 kg each has been sent for Suvendu Adhikari and Manik Saha. The rest will be given as goodwill gifts to distinguished personalities and senior officials of the two states.
