The Bangladesh government has sent 140 kg of mangoes as a gift to the prime minister of India.

The mangoes were sent around noon on Thursday, 4 July, on the Dhaka-Kolkata international bus service of Shyamoli Paribahan, addressed to Almas Hossain, consular official at the Bangladesh mission in Kolkata.

Benapole port director Rezaul Karim and Subedar Mizanur Rahman, company commander of the checkpost BGB camp, confirmed the shipment.

According to them, 140 kg of mangoes in seven cartons were sent to Kolkata by Shyamoli Paribahan on behalf of the Bangladesh government as a gift for the Indian prime minister. Almas Hossain, consular official at Bangladesh's Deputy High Commission in Kolkata, will receive the mangoes, which will then be handed over to the Indian government.
