The feeling of cold has eased considerably across the country. Temperatures have risen by up to 2 degrees everywhere except the north, and the Met Office has now forecast rain.

It said that on Thursday (30 January), light rain or drizzle may fall at one or two places in Mymensingh, Dhaka and Sylhet divisions, including the Cumilla region. Elsewhere the weather may remain mainly dry, with temporarily partly cloudy skies.

Night temperatures may remain almost unchanged in Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions and rise by 1 to 2 degrees Celsius elsewhere. Day temperatures may rise slightly across the country.

The forecast for Friday (31 January) said there is a chance of light rain or drizzle at one or two places in Mymensingh and Sylhet divisions, including the Cumilla and Kishoreganj regions.

Meteorologist Shahinul Islam said temperatures may rise gradually over the next few days, and may fall after this rain.

On Thursday the country's lowest temperature was 9.5 degrees Celsius in Tetulia. Dhaka's minimum was 15.8 degrees Celsius.
