In line with the National Tree Plantation Programme 2021, the Bangladesh Air Force has again this year taken up a "Tree-Planting Programme 2021" to increase the country's tree resources and preserve the balance of the environment.

Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan inaugurated the programme on Tuesday (June 15) by planting a sapling on the Air Headquarters premises.

The Air Force is running this year's campaign under the theme of the national tree plantation drive, "Mujib Barshe Angikar Kori, Sonar Bangla Sabuj Kori" (Let us pledge in Mujib Year to make Golden Bengal green).

Principal staff officers of Air Headquarters took part by planting saplings of different trees. Directors and senior officers of Air Headquarters were also present at the event.

Similar programmes have been taken up at the Air Force's various bases and units. Under the programme, the Air Force will plant saplings of fruit, timber and medicinal trees. The information was given in a press release from the Inter Services Public Relations Directorate on Tuesday.
