In line with the "National Tree Plantation Programme 2023", the Bangladesh Air Force has again this year taken up a tree plantation programme to increase the country's tree resources and preserve the balance of the environment.

Air Chief of Staff Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan opened the programme on Tuesday (20 June) by planting saplings in the area beside the lake next to the old airport runway at Tejgaon in the capital.

The information was given in a press release from the Inter-Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR). It said the Air Force is running this year's campaign around the national tree plantation drive's theme, "Plant trees and care for them, build a country of healthy generations". The principal staff officers of Air Headquarters took part by planting saplings of various trees. Directors and senior officers of Air Headquarters were among those present.

Similar programmes have been taken up at the Air Force's various bases and units. Under the programme the Air Force will plant saplings of fruit, timber and medicinal trees.
