Nutan was once a popular heroine of Bangla cinema. Along with acting, she had loved dancing and singing since childhood, and over a long career she played many kinds of roles. But the killing of two snakes during a film shoot remains one of the most talked-about and little-known chapters of her life.

Nutan recently shared many untold stories of her acting career on the podcast Behind the Fame with RRK, where the incident with the snakes came up.

Nutan was once very popular in folk-fantasy films, and became known to audiences especially through snake films. Her first film in the genre was Rajmahal.

Nutan said that during the shooting of Rajmahal she had to act with a pair of snakes. At one point she held the two snakes by the neck, but while acting she carelessly pressed too hard on their necks. In the end both snakes died.

The start of her career was also eventful. She had a deep love of cinema from childhood, and was particularly inspired by Sujata's performance in Rupban and Kabori's in Saat Bhai Champa. She once spent Tk 7 to buy a sari like the one Kabori wore, a considerable sum at the time.

She was also offered a role in Ehtesham's film Peech Dhala Path but turned it down, later making her debut as a heroine in Notun Probhat.

Having won a place in viewers' hearts with a wide range of roles over a long career, the actress has now shared many such untold stories from her life on Behind the Fame with RRK.
