The 2024 Census of Horticultural Specialties, released by USDA on 26 February 2026, put American floriculture, nursery and specialty crop sales at $18.3 billion across 23,060 operations, with nursery stock the largest line.

US cattle herd slips to 86.2 million head as beef cows shrink

USDA's NASS reported on 30 January 2026 that US farms held 86.2 million cattle and calves on 1 January, with beef cows down 1 percent, the 2025 calf crop down 2 percent and milk cows up 2 percent.
