Everyone values flowers, and flowers are needed at ceremonies and festivals. But not every flower is useful, and not every flower can be strung into a garland. Those are the flowers we call wildflowers. These photographs of wildflowers were taken by Nasrin Himu, a fourth-year student in the English department at Noakhali Science and Technology University.

Photographing wildflowers is Himu's hobby. Whenever she sees a wildflower beside her home or on the road, she takes a picture. Perhaps we too see these flowers all the time. Among the many species are many neglected flowers, the ones called 'wildflowers'. Many may have no name of their own and are known to everyone simply as wildflowers.

These eye-catching flowers bloom around us, in forests and jungles and along roadsides. Although people neglect them, wildflowers always bloom, obeying their Creator, to add to the beauty of the world. There are many beautiful flowers among them, yet people trample them underfoot.

Still the wildflowers bloom and make the world more beautiful. Countless wildflowers bloom by the roadside and in the woods. Whether anyone cares for them or not makes no difference to them. These flowers have a beauty of their own, but we rarely find the time to look for it. The flowers that bloom unseen and neglected are truly beautiful.
