A mobile court has fined the lessee of a sacrificial animal market in Ullapara, Sirajganj, Tk 50,000 for collecting excess toll (hasil). The lessee was ordered to return the money to buyers.

The fine was imposed through a mobile court at the upazila's Gasline market on Friday (6 June) afternoon by Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abu Saleh Mohammad Hasnat. Army and police personnel were present.

Court sources said the drive followed complaints that the lessee was charging extra money for buying and selling animals at Gasline market. After the excess collection was found to be true, the Tk 50,000 fine was imposed. The lessee also gave a written undertaking not to collect extra money in future.
