A farmer named Sahaman Molla, 45, was bitten by a venomous cobra while fetching fodder for his cattle in Pangsha, Rajbari. He then turned up at hospital with the live snake.

The incident took place on Monday (22 June) afternoon in Ramkhol village of Machhpara union in the upazila. Sahaman Molla is the son of Md Mojibor Molla of the same village.

According to local sources, the snake bit Sahaman Molla when he went to a haystack next to his house to fetch fodder for his cattle. Before the snake could escape, people nearby caught it and put it into a plastic jar. They then took the farmer to Pangsha Upazila Health Complex.

Dr Gias Uddin Khan, Pangsha upazila health and family planning officer, confirmed the incident and said the patient had been sent to Faridpur Medical College Hospital for better treatment.
