A farmer named Billal Byapari, 44, has died of a snakebite in Shahid Wahabpur, Rajbari Sadar upazila.

He died while undergoing treatment at Faridpur Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical College Hospital on the evening of 2 October. Billal Byapari was the son of Abdul Byapari of the Ruppur area of Shahid Wahabpur union parishad.

Akter Hossain, member for ward 2 of Shahid Wahabpur union parishad, said Billal Byapari and another man were working in a paddy field that afternoon when a venomous snake bit Billal on the leg. When he cried out, the farmer with him tied his leg tightly and, with the help of local people, took him to the Faridpur hospital. He died after being given two injections there. His body was later brought home.
