Autumn rain has washed the landscape of Rangamati clean, and drops of water now cling to the flowers blooming in the green. Red balsam in one place, yellow allamanda in another, white crepe jasmine elsewhere: Prothom Alo photographer Supriyo Chakma captured the rain-soaked morning.
The pictures show water beading on the reddish petals of a balsam, which stands out brighter among the wet leaves. Raindrops hang from a red flame vine, and drops on the petals of yellow allamanda make its colour more vivid.
White crepe jasmine blooms on a wet branch, a drop of water waiting to fall from the tip of one petal, and a bud of white periwinkle also carries the touch of rain.
The pictures are not only of ornamental flowers. White lemon blossom between green leaves, a yellow bitter gourd flower among the vines, purple chilli flowers and jujube blossom are all wet with rain. A dragon fruit bud is soaked, and a green papaya hangs behind the leaves.
Prothom Alo wrote that these flowers of the changing season seem to announce the coming of Hemanta, the late-autumn season.
