Bangladesh Wildlife Service Foundation has rescued a python from Hail Haor in Sreemangal, Moulvibazar. The snake was rescued on the morning of Sunday, 2 August.

Local farmers suddenly spotted the snake while clearing land for rice planting in Hail Haor. They tried to contact Bangladesh Wildlife Service Foundation to have it rescued, but when they could not immediately find anyone's number, they decided to kill it.

A man named Muhibur Rahman then asked everyone not to kill the snake. He collected the foundation's number and informed it.

On receiving the news, the foundation's director Swapan Deb Sajal and environmental activist Rajdeep Deb Deep rescued the python unharmed. It was later handed over to the Sreemangal forest range office.

Sreemangal forest range officer Md Nazmul Islam confirmed the matter and said the snake would be released into the forest.
