A fruit festival was held in Panchagarh on Wednesday (19 July). An organisation called the Rangdhanu Foundation organised it at midday on the grounds of the Panchagarh Government Auditorium.

Md Delwar Hossain Pradhan, principal of Panchagarh Makbular Rahman Government College, opened the festival. Sadar upazila chairman Amirul Islam and Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Md Zakir Hossain were present.

Throughout the day, stalls displayed a range of familiar and unfamiliar fruits, including mango, jam, lychee, jackfruit, banana, dragon fruit, golapjam, jamrul, dates, bael, orange, malta, cashew nuts, alu bokhara, pineapple, katlichu, raisins, olives, peaches and ata.

Rangdhanu Foundation general secretary Mahmudul Hasan Tushar said the event was organised to introduce fruits and make their qualities known. More than fifty local and foreign fruits were displayed at the festival, he said.
