Pakistan's insecticide imports rose 53.40 percent in value in July and August 2026, the first two months of fiscal year 2027, to 6,931 tonnes worth $35.469 million from 4,013 tonnes worth $23.122 million a year earlier, according to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics. Volume rose by about 73 percent.

That far outpaced the broader agricultural and chemical import group, up 9.03 percent. Fertiliser import volumes fell from 155,830 to 128,337 tonnes even as their value rose slightly, pointing to higher unit prices rather than more demand.

The data do not break imports down by active ingredient or origin. Global Agriculture notes that Pakistan is a significant market for Chinese and Indian pesticide exporters and that swings in its imports are an early signal of pest pressure and crop protection spending in South Asia's cotton, rice, sugarcane and wheat belts.
