Members of Sabuj Bangla, a member organisation of the Bangladesh Biodiversity Conservation Federation (BBCF), have rescued a booted eagle in Naldanga, Natore. The eagle was rescued at Madhnagar in the upazila on Wednesday (14 August) afternoon.

Local people found the eagle sick in the Madhnagar sub-post office area. On receiving the news, Sabuj Bangla members went and rescued it, brought it to the upazila livestock office and gave it first aid. The eagle was later handed over to a representative of the Rajshahi Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation division.

Fazle Rabbi, publicity secretary of the BBCF central committee and general secretary of Sabuj Bangla, said the BBCF works across the country to conserve wildlife, with more than 20,000 volunteers working on wildlife conservation nationwide.

Present at the handover were Sohel Rana, junior wildlife scout of the Rajshahi Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation division, BBCF publicity secretary Fazle Rabbi and Ansar commander Muktar Hossain, among others.
