Midland Bank has held a tree-planting programme to mark National Mourning Day 2021.

The bank's managing director, Md Ahsan-uz-Zaman, inaugurated the programme at the bank's head office on Sunday (29 August). Deputy managing director Md Zahid Hossain and senior officials were present.

Separately, trees were also planted in several areas of Rajshahi at the initiative of Midland Bank's Rajshahi branch. The programme there was inaugurated by ABM Sharif Uddin, whom the report describes as chief executive officer of the bank's Rajshahi City Corporation branch.

Under the programme, 1,560 trees were planted in the city at Biman Chattar on the road from Alif Lam Mim to Budhpara and at the Chandrima thana crossing. Midland Bank's Rajshahi branch held the programme under the slogan "Let's plant trees and take part in building Bangabandhu's dream country".

Samiul Karim, Midland Bank's regional head in Rajshahi and branch manager, was present.
