Abdur Rahman studied at Chittagong University and then worked for a private company. He dreamed of becoming an entrepreneur, and eventually found the courage to quit his job and start a quail farm. It has brought him success.

Abdur Rahman is from Sikdarpara in Kumiraghona, Barahatia, in Lohagara upazila. He set up "ARB Quail Farm" next to the Sirat field in Chunati union beside the Chattogram–Cox's Bazar highway. Before starting, he gained experience by visiting various hatcheries in Bogura and Naogaon.

He said he began with capital of Tk 7 lakh. He rents 20 decimals of land for Tk 14,000 a month, and bought two generators, an incubator and other equipment for the farm. He was inspired by success stories of different farms he read on the internet and in newspapers.

He sells each quail for Tk 32 and on average sells 15,000–17,000 quail a month. Quail from his farm are sold in Bottoli, Chunati, Keranihat, Chakaria, Cox's Bazar and Chattogram city. After expenses, he earns Tk 30,000 a month.
