A farmer named Kuti Mia Molla (53) has died after being bitten by a snake while asleep in Lohagara, Narail.

The incident happened at around 3am on the night of Friday, 18 October, in Paschimpara of Lahuria village in the upazila.

Kuti Mia Molla went to sleep after dinner with his family. At about 3am a venomous snake bit him in his sleep, and he woke and told his family.

Early on Saturday morning, his relatives took him in a critical condition to the Mohammadpur Upazila Health Complex in Magura, where a doctor declared him dead.

Neighbour Zakir Master said Kuti Mia Molla was the son of the late Tejan Molla of Lahuria Paschimpara. He was a farmer and is survived by his wife, three sons and two daughters.

Lohagara police station officer-in-charge (OC) Md Ashikur Rahman confirmed the death.
