One of the main cattle markets for qurbani in West Bengal is the "Allah Bharosa" cattle market at Park Circus in Kolkata. Demand for local cattle is higher in Kolkata this Eid, and buying and selling at the market continued until the last moment.

According to the market's organisers, this temporary market sends a message of harmony, because many non-Muslims have come forward to help with this Muslim event.

Soon after Eid comes Durga Puja, the biggest festival of Bengalis, followed by Diwali, the festival of lights. Just as Muslims help with these festivals, non-Muslims also lend a hand for Eid-ul-Azha.

Shahid Pandit told Jago News: "Here we all live together. There is no problem between Hindus and Muslims. Whether it is puja or Eid, we are all together. Here Hindus and Muslims are one family."
