Boro paddy has given a bumper yield across the country again this year. Despite the good harvest, however, many farmers are in difficulty over cutting their paddy because of intense heat, labour and financial shortages, and fears of heavy rain and flash floods from the hills.

In this situation, on the prime minister's instruction, the Jubo League has called on its leaders and activists to cut, thresh and bring home paddy for helpless farmers. The call was made by the organisation's chairman, Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash, and general secretary Alhaj Md Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil.

The call was announced in a press release signed by Jubo League office secretary Mostafizur Rahman Masud on Tuesday (25 April).
