A woman has died after being gored by a cow at a cattle market in Homna, Cumilla. The incident took place at noon on 25 May in the Gharmora Bazar area of the upazila.

Thomas Barua, officer-in-charge (OC) of Homna police station, confirmed the information to Jagonews24 at 8:30pm.

The dead woman, Amena Begum, 55, was the wife of Abul Hashem of Omrabad village in Bhasania union of the upazila.

Citing locals, OC Thomas Barua said Amena Begum had brought a cow she had raised to Gharmora Bazar to sell. After it was brought to the market, the cow became agitated and struck her with its horns, seriously injuring her.

Locals rescued her and took her to the upazila health complex, where a doctor declared her dead.
