A woman named Fatema, alias Panna, 31, has died after being bitten by a snake in Gafargaon, Mymensingh.

She died on the night of Saturday 2 September while being treated at Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.

Panna was the daughter of the late Zillur Rahman of Bongram village in Gafargaon union of the upazila. Gafargaon union chairman Shamsul Alam Khokon confirmed the details to Jago News.

Her brother Fahad said a venomous snake bit her at around 4.30pm on Saturday while she was working in the kitchen. She was taken to the upazila health complex, where the doctor on duty referred her to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital. She died there while under treatment.
