Pir Shah Sufi Md Robin Hasan Mostak of the Ramchandrapur Darbar Sharif offered his Eid-ul-Azha prayers in Sadarpur, Faridpur.

The early Eid congregation was held at around 10am on Tuesday (26 May) at the Darbar Sharif mosque in Ramchandrapur village of Krishnapur union in the upazila. Others in the area, however, will offer Eid prayers and sacrifice animals with the rest of the country according to the usual national practice.

According to the Darbar Sharif, religious festivals there have long been observed in line with Saudi Arabia. This year too, the Eid prayers and rituals were completed peacefully. Followers of the Darbar Sharif and people from about 30 nearby families joined the congregation. After the prayers, a special munajat was offered for peace, prosperity and welfare of the country, the nation and the Muslim ummah.

Pir Shah Sufi Md Robin Hasan Mostak told Jago News: "Every year we offer Eid prayers in line with Saudi Arabia. We organise this following the rules of Islamic Sharia. This year too the Eid congregation was held peacefully with our followers taking part. The animals will be sacrificed tomorrow morning."

Confirming the matter, Sadarpur Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Sharif Shawon told Jago News that police were on duty in plain clothes so that no untoward incident took place around the Eid congregation.
