Farmers across Fulbari upazila in Dinajpur are busy with the early winter vegetable crop.

They have turned to early planting in the hope of good prices at the start of the season.

A target of 150 hectares of early winter vegetables has been set in Fulbari this season.

Output from that area is put at about 3,375 tonnes.

Seedlings of cauliflower and cabbage are going in on some plots, tomato, bean, radish and carrot on others.

An early harvest earns the season's highest price, but late-monsoon rain can destroy seedlings, so the gamble carries real risk.
