Arif Mahmud of Dhanmondi said people are at their wits' end as prices of daily essentials rise while life has stalled because of coronavirus.

At Krishi Market, Lizy Alam said red eggs cost Tk 110 a dozen, duck eggs Tk 165 and Sonali eggs Tk 155. At Mohammadpur Town Hall market, Firoz Talukder said broiler chicken costs Tk 175 and Sonali Tk 320.

Taufiqul Islam of Shyamoli said there is no business during the pandemic, but people still have to go to the market, and the government should monitor it firmly.

Tauhid Sumon of Kalabagan said that in a country where workers and sellers are all leaders, it is natural for prices to rise every day.

Onion trader Salim Sheikh said traders' attempts to make excessive profits are the reason prices are going up.
