On the instruction of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, 22 teams of veterinarians have joined the capital's cattle markets.

From Thursday, 7 July, the teams will check the health of animals and identify those unfit for Qurbani. They have already started work at the markets approved by Dhaka North City Corporation and Dhaka South City Corporation.

Across the country, 1,739 veterinary teams are working at Qurbani markets, along with one specialist team of veterinarians.

The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock will oversee the work of the veterinary teams at the markets, and has assigned nine deputy secretary-level officials to designated markets.

Alongside the ministry officials, 12 teams from the Department of Livestock Services will monitor the capital's Qurbani markets.
