Shah Sabbir Hasan is a second-year undergraduate student. Three years ago he went with his family to buy a sacrificial animal, and besides the cow they bought, another animal caught his eye. On a whim, he bought it and brought it home.

Its previous owner called the bull 'Badshah', and Sabbir kept the name. Badshah now weighs 980 kg (24 maunds) and carries himself like a king. The bull has caught everyone's attention, and it will be sold at this Eid-ul-Azha for an asking price of Tk 14 lakh.

Sabbir Hasan is raising Badshah at the Gungun Park and Resort in Baganbari, Ashuganj upazila, Brahmanbaria, a park he is gradually building himself. In a shed in one corner of the park he is also raising four other large cattle, along with foreign breeds of chicken, ducks and a horse.

Badshah is a Brahman-Sahiwal crossbreed. He is very calm and does nothing even if someone holds his horns or hugs his neck, and he responds when called by name.

Sabbir Hasan said Badshah weighed 620 kg when he brought him from the market and now weighs 980 kg. Every day he is given concentrate feed along with high-quality silage and fresh grass, and besides being bathed he is walked twice a day. "If I get Tk 14 lakh, I will sell him," he said.
