An elderly man, Md Yunus Bepari (60), has died of a snakebite in Bhola. He died on Sunday night (29 June) while under treatment at Monpura Upazila Health Complex.
Yunus Bepari lived in Bhuiyar Hat village, Ward 9, Hajirhat union, Monpura upazila, Bhola.
Local people said a venomous snake bit Yunus Bepari on Sunday night as he was putting on his shoes to go out of his house in Monpura. He called his son, who came and saw the snake. The snake was killed, and his relatives took Yunus Bepari, along with the snake, to Monpura Upazila Health Complex at around 10pm. He died under treatment at around 11:30pm.
Md Ahsan Kabir, officer-in-charge (OC) of Monpura police station, confirmed the incident.
