Beli flowers are very effective at making skin firm and smooth, and regular use also reduces wrinkles. Crushed beli flowers can be mixed with aloe vera juice and honey and applied to the skin.
People with dry skin can benefit by using this on the face twice a week, as it helps heal dryness. A pack can also be made by steeping beli petals in boiling water for three to five minutes, straining the water and making a paste with milk cream.
Beli flowers work wonderfully for smooth skin. People with sensitive skin can blend them with yoghurt and apply to the face once a week. Mixing beli flowers with aloe vera and applying to the skin also makes it firm and smooth.
Precautions
Wash the flowers well before making a pack. Flowers should never be used directly on the skin; they must be mixed with another skin-friendly ingredient.
Use flower packs fresh. If kept for long, bacteria can grow in them, which is harmful to the skin. Before using a flower pack, test it on part of the hand to see whether it causes any skin problem.
Herbal uses
Beli has some herbal properties. Eating crushed and boiled beli roots and young leaves helps clear a cold settled in the chest, and is also effective against breathing difficulty. Taking beli flower juice with warm water helps control intestinal worms. For nausea, beli root juice mixed with water from washing atap rice and sugar relieves the feeling. A paste of beli leaves applied to a wound helps it heal quickly, and ground beli leaves mixed with water and drunk help sleep.
Different flowers are available in different seasons and can be used for beauty care. But using flowers directly can harm the skin, so they should always be mixed with something else.
