Prothom Alo's daily picture round for 1 October, 'Ekjholok', gathers what its photographers saw across the districts at the end of autumn. The farm, market and nature scenes from the round are described here.

In Ramakanta, Gangachara upazila of Rangpur, jute growers are getting good prices this season: a maund of jute is selling for Tk 3,800 to Tk 4,000 (photo: Moinul Islam). In Chhalapak in the same upazila, two buffaloes have been put into the Teesta to cool off from the heat (photo: Moinul Islam).

In Garibpur, Shibganj, Bogura, a farmer has planted cauliflower as a companion crop in a banana field, and farm workers are tending it in strong sun. Near Subil bridge in Bogura town, retailers sort onions bought from the wholesale market, and in Pallimangal workers unload rice husk from a truck (photos: Soyel Rana).

On the Bhantir char of the Gumti river in Burichang, Cumilla, farmer Ibrahim Khalil weeds his 12-decimal plot of red amaranth (photo: Abdur Rahman). In Basantapara, Bandarban, yardlong beans picked from the fields are piled by the road for traders (photo: Mong Hai Sing Marma). From Puran Para in Rangamati, growers take an engine boat full of pomelos towards town to sell them (photo: Supriyo Chakma).

In Bokail, Gerda, Faridpur, the dengue outbreak has raised the demand for and price of green coconuts, and a trader carries coconuts collected in the villages to town (photo: Alimuzzaman). In Mahadipur, Badalgachhi, Naogaon, people set out to work through morning fog, which at the end of autumn signals the coming winter in the northern districts (photo: Hasan Mahmud).

The round also caught a flock of parrots on a branch in the forest department area of Khagrachhari (photo: Joyonti Dewan), a bulbul feeding papaya to its chick in Narai Chhari, Rangamati (photo: Supriyo Chakma), a flock of geese on a roadside pond in Ranatitha, Raiganj, and madhumalati flowers in Udhunia, Ullapara, Sirajganj (photos: Sajedul Alam), and roadside dantranga flowers on the Bandarban-Thanchi road and a powder puff tree in bloom in Tutpara, Khulna (photos: Mong Hai Sing Marma and Saddam Hossain).
