Tempting Amsotto Kheer Roll

Instead of queuing at crowded sweet shops during the pandemic, you can make the traditional Bengali amsotto kheer roll at home.

From the days of Durga Puja onwards, the crowds at sweet shops are striking. In this coronavirus pandemic, instead of going into crowded sweet shops, you can make the traditional Bengali amsotto (mango leather) kheer roll at home.

What you need: amsotto, liquid milk, milk powder, cardamom powder and sugar to taste.

How to make it: First cut thin fillets one by one from a bar of amsotto and set them aside. Heat the milk in a karai and add the milk powder little by little, stirring continuously to make kheer.

When it has the texture of kheer, mix in the cardamom powder and sugar and stir well. Then fill the amsotto fillets with the kheer and roll them up, and the amsotto kheer rolls are ready.
