Texas A&M AgriLife Extension pecan specialist Monte Nesbitt estimates the 2026 Texas crop at about 39 million pounds against 32 million last year, after a wet spring spread scab, downy spot and powdery mildew and a hot, dry August arrived just as kernels began to fill; wholesale prices approached $3
