England's second Sustainable Farming Incentive window may fund only 15,000 of 40,000 farms

Window 2 of SFI26 opens on 22 September with £230 million and closes when the money runs out; analysis by Soil Benchmark puts average agreements near £15,000 after Defra cut rates and dropped the management payment, leaving up to two-thirds of would-be applicants without funding.
