A young man named Saddam Hossain, 30, has died of a snakebite in Sakhipur, Tangail. The incident happened on the night of 22 June in the Sonartori School intersection area of ward 6 of Sakhipur municipality.

Saddam was the son of Abdul Kader of Fulbaria upazila in Mymensingh district. The family has lived in the Sakhipur municipality area for a long time.

His father, Abdul Kader, said his son was sitting on the bed in his room at night, using his mobile phone and swinging his legs, when a venomous snake bit his swinging foot from under the bed. He was taken to hospital, which referred him to Mirzapur hospital that night, and he died on the way.

His father added that Saddam was the father of one child. He supported his family by driving a van and working as a mason.
