In Rangpur, anyone who buys Budhu and Robi together will get a Pulsar motorcycle as a prize. Budhu and Robi are Friesian bulls belonging to farmer Rafiqul Islam Sarkar of the Taluk Tampat area of Mirganj, in ward 32 of Rangpur city.

The giant pair are set to shake up Rangpur's cattle markets ahead of Eid-ul-Azha, and buying them together also brings a motorcycle.

A visit found owner Rafiqul Islam Sarkar caring for Budhu and Robi with great attention. As well as watching their feed, he is careful about cleanliness, and with the intense heat in mind he has installed two fans and arranged a constant electricity supply.

Local people say no cattle this big have been seen anywhere this year, and the pair seem likely to be the biggest in Rangpur's markets. People gather at Rafiqul's house from different places every day to catch a glimpse of them.

Neighbour Harun-or-Rashid said Rafiqul had raised the two bulls with great care. If he gets the price he hopes for, his hard work will pay off and he will be encouraged.

Rafiqul Islam said: "Budhu and Robi were born here. Because they were born on a Wednesday (Budhbar) and a Sunday (Robibar), my mother fondly named them Budhu and Robi. I have raised Budhu for four years and Robi for three, and I have never neglected their care or feed. I expect Robi to weigh 25 maunds and Budhu about 26 maunds. Budhu and Robi are priced at Tk 15 lakh each, Tk 30 lakh in all. Anyone who buys both together will also get a Pulsar motorcycle free as a prize."
