The Forest Department has rescued a python about 15 feet long from a settlement in Ramu, Cox's Bazar, and later released it in the local botanical garden.

Rajarkul beat officer Pallab Kumar Saha said the python was rescued on Monday afternoon (4 August) and released in the afternoon.

According to local sources, people in West Monirjhil Dargahpara, under Rajarkul beat, saw the snake on Monday morning and informed the Forest Department. At the time the snake had killed a nanny goat and was trying to eat it.

"On getting the news we rescued the snake from the settlement and then released it deep in the forest of Rajarkul Botanical Garden," Pallab Kumar Saha said.
