Astronomical calculations put the start of Ramadan 2027 on Monday 8 February. If the moon is sighted on the evening of Sunday 7 February, the first tarawih prayers will be that night and the first fast the next day.

The provisional 2027 calendar published by the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kazakhstan puts Eid al-Fitr on 9 March. An astronomical forecast by the UAE-based Gulf News puts it on Wednesday 10 March. The two agree on the start of Ramadan but differ by a day on Eid.

According to the same calendar, the Day of Arafah may fall on 15 May and Eid al-Adha on 16 to 18 May.

Other likely dates: Shab-e-Miraj on the night of 4-5 January, Shab-e-Barat on the night of 22-23 January, Shab-e-Qadr on the night of 5 March, Ashura on 15 June and Eid-e-Miladunnabi on 14-15 August.

Because Hijri months begin with the sighting of the moon, any of these may move by a day. In Bangladesh the final dates of Ramadan and both Eids will be announced by the National Moon Sighting Committee. In 2026 Ramadan began in Bangladesh on 19 February and Eid al-Fitr was on 20 March.
