A python 12 feet long has been rescued from a fish enclosure in Mirsarai, Chattogram. The snake weighed about 16 kg.

It was recovered on the morning of Thursday, 26 October, from the enclosure of Babul Chowdhury in West Khaiyachhara, in the upazila's Khaiyachhara union, and was then handed over to the forest department.

The owner, Babul Chowdhury, said: "My fish project was fenced all round with netting. When I went to the enclosure on Thursday morning I saw a python caught in the net. I informed the forest department, and they rescued the snake and took it away."

Abdul Gafur Molla, the Mirsarai coastal range officer, told Jago News: "On getting the news we rescued the python and brought it in. It was later released in Mahamaya Eco Park. The python is 12 feet long and weighs about 16 kg."
