A hilsa weighing 2 kg 400 g has been caught in a fisherman's net in the Payra river in Barguna. The fish sold for Tk 9,500.

It was caught in the net of fisherman Abul Hossain on the afternoon of Wednesday (19 November) in the Nakri area of Taltali upazila, near the river's mouth at the sea.

Al-Amin, a wholesale fish trader at Taltali fish market, said he bought the fish at auction from the wholesale house for Tk 9,500. He is preparing to send it to the Jatrabari fish market in Dhaka, where he hopes to sell it for Tk 12,000.
