Twenty-two pigeons have allegedly been poisoned to death in Patuakhali. The incident happened in the town's South Sabujbagh area on Thursday afternoon (6 May).

The pigeons' owner, Mir Kuddus, blamed his neighbour for the incident.

"I have been rearing pigeons for about 15 years. On Wednesday (5 May), Selina Begum, the wife of our neighbour Harun, came to our house and said the pigeons were coming to their roof and ruining the paint of the roof and house with their droppings, and told us to sell them. Today at noon they poisoned 18 of my pigeons and four of my brother's," Mir Kuddus said.

District livestock officer Dr Md Anwar Hossain said the incident was sad and that the victim could take legal action.
